They met in the summer of 1986 - when Jason moved in down the street from Carrie's house. They dated for about 6 months - She was 15, he was 14 - and he was her first 'real' boyfriend. 4 years ago, Jason reached out to Carrie on Facebook to say hello, and she was headed to opening day for the Diamondbacks- and mentioned she would call him back - She forgot- haha. He reached out to her again a couple of days later, and the rest is history!

When Jason's sister came to visit them in March of 2022 - they took trip up north to Cottonwood where Jason's brother lived. Jason's whole family, along with his kids were up there with them for the day together. Right before it was time to go - they had "family pictures" - Carrie was going to take them, not knowing what was about to come - his sister Shawna insisted her husband take pictures of Jason and Carrie (Shawna had only just found out he was going to do it). There were lots of pictures and right at the end, Jason dropped down beside Carrie. She thought he had dropped something. She looked down and he was down on his knee with the ring in his hand. She was shocked! It was great to have his whole family there to witness the proposal!
