Paddle Board/Kayak

Rent paddle boards or kayaks by the hour from Texas Rowing Center. This is one of our favorite activities in Austin!

The Domain Shopping

It's easy to spend all day shopping and eating around the Domain. This is an outdoor shopping mall about 20 mins north of downtown.

Texas Capitol

If you're into history you can stop by or book a tour of the Texas Capitol.

Zilker Metropolitan Park

Beautiful park with views of the skyline.

Austin Bat Tours

April is bat season! You can see swarms of millions of bats fly out from under the Congress Bridge. For the best viewing you can book a bat tour.

Barton Springs

Barton Springs is a natural water spring located in Zilker Park. Fun place to take a dip on a warm day!

Texas Farmers' Market at Mueller

Fresh lemonade, fresh air, fresh food, fresh flowers.

Broken Spoke

For some good old fashioned line dancing! True Texan dance hall. Don't call it line dancing to the locals...

Mount Bonnell

Best place we've found to watch the sunset! (You'll have to climb 100 steps to get to it though)

Lake Travis

Rent a boat for a day on Austin's biggest lake.

University of Texas at Austin

Check out the Texas Longhorns campus where Michael got his Master's degree.

Circuit of the Americas

See where the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix is held each October.

Comedy Mothership

Austin is a comedy hub with shows happening every night. Check out a comedy show at one of Austin's famous comedy clubs.

Baseball Game

Head to either the University of Texas Disch-Falk Field for a Texas college baseball game (closer to downtown) or head up north a bit further to Dell Diamond to watch the semi-pro team that feeds the world champion Texas Rangers.

West 6th Street

6th street is the center of Austin's night life scene. Walk the strip and check out some live music!

MLS Soccer Game

Austin FC plays at Q2 stadium in North Austin.

Central Machine Works

Beer garden on the east side often with live music and good vibes.

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema

Watch a movie at the theatre with a full service waiter, full bar, good food, and great milkshakes.

Franklin Barbecue

Best and most famous BBQ in Austin. Long line, but worth the wait. Michael has brought camping chairs and tailgated in the morning with the people lined up for when they open.

Torchy's Tacos

Delicious tacos. Enough said.

Banger's Sausage House & Beer Garden

Fun beer garden that often has live music. Great place to eat, drink, and hang out. They have over 100 craft beers on tap.

Veracruz All Natural

Our favorite breakfast tacos!

Terry Black's Barbecue

Can't visit Texas without getting some BBQ! Busy spot with great Texan ambiance close to downtown. Lines are long but move fast, be ready to order when you get to the front!

Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers

Quick bite, great fried chicken and the special sauce is to die for.

P6 at the LINE Austin

Appetizers and drinks from the top of The Line Hotel for a great view over Lady Bird Lake in downtown.
