FAQs

Question

Where is the venue?

Answer

Both our ceremony and reception will be held at Lakeside Hall, which is located at the heart of the historic Fort Richie Military Base in Cascade, MD (about 10 minutes from Smithsburg just south of PA line). Look for the large former officer's club right on the lake!

Question

Where do I park?

Answer

Lakeside Hall will have plenty of free parking spaces right up front!

Question

Will There Be A Dress-Code?

Answer

Nope! We want everyone to feel comfortable and confident in their appearances, however, this is a wedding, please be mindful and refrain from graphic tees, jeans, hockey jerseys, and Nickelback merch. It'll also be late September and we'll be outside, so seasonally appropriate clothing should be a must. Be comfortable and have fun!

Question

Can I Bring My Kids?

Answer

Unfortunately, no. We've decided to have an adults-only, child-free wedding and reception; there will be alcohol and adult behavior so for the safety of them and our guests we ask that you leave them with a sitter for the night.

Question

Can I Bring a +1?

Answer

Great question! While we'd love to meet your current girl/boy/they friend, we're looking to keep this a small and intimate evening with the people we love most. Please, unless explicitly told otherwise, leave your +1 at home (pro-tip: they can babysit!)

Question

Will There Be Alcohol?

Answer

Ah yes, the question everyone is dying to know! We will be providing an open bar. With that being said, our venue is located at the top of a mountain with lots of twists and turns to get to and from where you'll be staying. For your safety and the safety of others, please drink responsibly and arrange for a safe ride home.

Question

What About Food?

Answer

We'll be offering a taco bar buffet, light appetizers, side dishes, and an assortment of desserts. Catering will be provided by Leiters Fine Catering and Tony's grandmother will be coordinating a Pittsburgh-Style Cookie Table. No need to bring anything with you except an empty stomach!

Question

Can I Take Photos?

Answer

We'd love to see everyone's perspective from our day! Please just be mindful of the fact that we will have professional photographers there and don't want to see phones in the background of our ceremony photos; please keep phones on silent and in your bag, pocket, or car during the ceremony, but feel free to take as many photos as you want during the reception!

Question

What About Gifts?

Answer

Gifts are great! Who doesn't love a good gift? That being said, the two of us have amassed enough kitchenware and home goods to furnish the apartments of an army of college boys. Instead, we kindly ask that you consider contributing to our honeymoon fund which is linked in the registry section of our website!

Question

Who's Coming?

Answer

Do you get overwhelmed by large crowds? Us too! Don't worry, we're keeping the day intimate and reserved to only our closest friends and family. The venue maxes out at 200, but we're only expecting 50, so there'll be plenty of room to dance, eat, talk, and breathe. The venue also has a large outdoor area and designated smoking area for anyone who needs to step out and get some air. (Please respect our venue and refrain from smoking outside of the designated areas, this is an historic property, and we want to leave it as beautiful as we found it.)
