Ever since God has brought Adam a soul mate in Eve, mankind remains in continuous pursuit of companionship, someone to care, someone to share, someone to love, someone to kiss someone to miss, someone to ultimately grow old with. God then became for many, the first ever matchmaker. Besides God, the first mention of a human matchmaker in the Bible was a man named Eliezer, a servant of Abraham–who, with the help of the Holy Spirit, found Rebecca who later married Abraham’s son Isaac. What was a regular day for Mike, Gedeon’s brother-in-law, soon became one of the luckiest days for Gedeon. On his way to the company’s HR office, Mike met this wonderful young lady, a creole queen. He immediately said to himself “She would be the perfect fit for my brother-in-law”. From there was the beginning of a love story. A week later, Gedeon decided to reach out to Scherlie, however his attempts were unsuccessful. Scherlie too, also felt the confusion after waiting a week to hear from Gedeon. To his relief, Gedeon later learned that Mike accidentally gave him the wrong number, and from there, Gedeon finally sent a text to the right number. A week later, Scherlie received an unusual text message that began the genesis of a series of events that would shape their relationship: date nights, walking by the sea, long phone calls, playing golf, praying time, studying of the Word, bowling, and recreational parks. The series of events culminated at Gedeon’s surprised birthday party which was not only a surprised for him, but also for Scherlie. The night of his birthday dinner, Gedeon–on one knee asked Scherlie to marry him. Since you are reading this, you know her answer was...yes. Scherlie and Gedeon have come a long way. The Lord has sustained their relationship, their love, and commitment to each other. On October 5th, 2019, they will say yes, yes together - forever. The Lord is still in the business of putting people together.
