The archeological record etched into this landscape is much more than isolated islands of architecture . . .The Monument has been used or inhabited by humans, including the Northern Ancestral Puebloan culture (or Anasazi), for 10,000 years, and continues to be a landscape used by humans today."
"The trail ascends to the top of Sharkstooth Pass at 11,900 ft." to phenomenal 360 degree views. "Many people will turnaround at this point and descend back to the TH for a 4 mile hike/bike."
Fishing! There are several great fishing opportunities in our area. We have plenty of fishing gear and a kayak and canoe for you to borrow! And if you arrive in the days before the wedding, the groom will provide a guided fishing trip to one of the local lakes or rivers.
Go "play in historic downtown Durango where you will find beautiful hotels, friendly shops, first class restaurants, famous breweries and many things to do. Take a stroll through the streets and marvel at the historic buildings and unique shops, sip a gourmet cup of coffee or enjoy some of the rich arts and culture of downtown."
A great day trip from our house, "Telluride, a former Victorian mining town in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, is set in a box canyon amid forested peaks at the base of a popular ski-and-golf resort. The town’s historic district houses landmarks like the Sheridan Opera House," several shops and cafes. The free gondola ride into town provides stunning 360 degree views!
