It was the summer of 2008 at a Mineola street fair where Ian was with a high school friend The first thing Ian noticed was Rachel's beautiful brown eyes At the time, Rachel was not interested in dating anybody, but Ian added Rachel on Facebook and that is where the magic began We would spend hours on AIM (AOL Instant Message) talking about our interests, hobbies, and getting to know each other As time went on and both Rachel and Ian got to know each other further, Ian wrote Rachel a poem titled "My Fairytale" At 11:42pm, Ian sent the poem to Rachel and you can guess it....the rest is history The two love birds continue to remain high school sweethearts to this day despite the distance between high schools as Rachel went to Jericho and Ian went to Mineola As the years went on, their shared passion of games, movies, and music kept their burning love alive; but, the one thing that kept their love stronger than ever is Disney

Thirteen years has gone by and Rachel decided to make Ian's 30th birthday extra magical by booking a trip to Walt Disney World Little did Rachel know, Ian had other plans by asking the princess of his dreams to marry him Ian knew how much Rachel loved the Little Mermaid and bought an inspired ring with her birth stone included on the ring As old fashioned as Ian is, he asked Rachel's father, Jay for his blessing and it was granted As they were preparing to take photos in front of Cinderella's castle, Ian got down on one knee (while almost dropping the ring) and asked the words Rachel always wanted to hear "will you marry me?" Without hesitation, Rachel replied "yes" multiple times
