Things To Do

San Diego Zoo

2920 Zoo Drive, San Diego, CA 92101
, (619) 231-1515

Dylan and I got a pass to the San Diego Zoo our first year in San Diego and loved going to see the animals and the feed the giraffes. The San Diego Zoo is a zoo in Balboa Park, San Diego, California, housing more than 3,500 animals of more than 650 species and subspecies.

Balboa Park

1450 El Prado, San Diego, CA 92101
, (619) 239-0512

Balboa park has our favorite disc golf and stick golf course! Balboa Park is a 1,200-acre urban cultural park in San Diego, California, United States. In addition to open space areas, natural vegetation zones, green belts, gardens, and walking paths, it contains museums, several theaters, and the world-famous San Diego Zoo.

Oceanside Sunset Market

401 Pier View Way, Oceanside, CA 92054
, (760) 754-4512

We went to the Oceanside Sunset Market on our very first adventure in San Diego and enjoyed yummy street tacos and bought local jewelry. Featuring up to 200 merchants and spanning four city blocks, MainStreet Oceanside’s Sunset Market is San Diego County's top weekly food and music street fair.

Gaslamp Quarter

208 Fifth Ave, San Diego, CA 92101

We both enjoy going out to the Gaslamp Quarter for the food, nightlife and dancing. The Gaslamp Quarter is a lively downtown neighborhood, known for its nightlife. Clubs, dive bars and cocktail lounges draw a young crowd, while the Spreckels and Balboa theaters have diverse programs of music, comedy and drama. There's a mix of chain and independent restaurants in the area, with many global options. Horton Plaza Park has grassy lawns, ice cream and coffee vendors, and an interactive fountain.

Pacific Beach Pier

4500 Ocean Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92109
, (800) 748-5894

Not only is Pacific Beach our home, but the pier is the best places to hang out and watch the surfers. There are also a bunch of great rooftop bars and restaurants to watch the sunset.

La Jolla Cove

1100 Coast Blvd, La Jolla, CA 92037

We went kayaking and got to explore the La Jolla Shores caves and say hello to all the seals along the way. La Jolla Cove is a small, picturesque cove and beach that is surrounded by cliffs in La Jolla, San Diego, California. The Cove is protected as part of a marine reserve; underwater it is very rich in marine life, and is popular with snorkelers, swimmers and scuba divers.

Torrey Pines Golf Course

11480 North Torrey Pines Road, San Diego, CA 92037
, (858) 452-3226

Torrey Pines is hands down Dylan's favorite golf course in San Diego and plays it as much as he can. Torrey Pines Golf Course is a 36-hole municipal public golf facility on the west coast of the United States, owned by the city of San Diego, California. It sits on the coastal cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean in the community of La Jolla, just south of Torrey Pines State Reserve.

Little Italy

750 W Fir Street, San Diego, CA 92101

Ever since we both have lived in Italy we love Italian food and it has become one of our favorite date night out meals. Little Italy is a chic, pedestrian-friendly neighborhood, packed with trendy cocktail bars, brewpubs and restaurants with bustling patios. Upscale clothing boutiques, indie music venues and quaint piazzas dot the area, while the weekly Little Italy Mercato Farmers’ Market draws crowds to its mix of produce, gourmet food and craft stalls. The green lawns of Waterfront Park have fountains, and offer views of the bay.
