Wedding Party

We are grateful for the people God has placed in our lives. Here are a few who we have the privilege of being especially close to:

Kelly Saunders

Bride

Drew Chafin

Groom

David Saunders

Father of the Bride

Anne Saunders

Mother of the Bride

Jamie Chafin

Father of the Groom

Deborah Chafin

Mother of the Groom

Chris Jones

Officiant

Chris is a man of integrity known for his love for the presence of God and creating an atmosphere where others can experience the same thing. As a faithful friend he has stuck by Drew in good times and bad. He has seen him grow up and has often led him in his relationship with the Lord. He is a treasured part of our family and we are honored to call him our pastor.

Elizabeth Kisewski

Matron of Honor

Liz and Kelly met during their first year and graduated from the same Business Administration - International Development program. They adventured together through the countryside late at night while having Spirit-led conversations, they traveled across Ontario and back to Liz's home in Wisconsin, and they journeyed alongside their missions team to Japan and back again. Liz and Kelly share a deep sisterhood marked by Jesus, the Father's love, Holy Spirit guidance, and uproarious, joyful laughter! (And the occasional mozzarella stick.) Liz was Kelly's first and only college roommate. Along with her trusted wisdom, love for Jesus, and deep compassion, Liz encourages everyone she meets, desiring for them to know the security of knowing they are loved by God and He will never leave them.

Kelsey Arnold

Bridesmaid

Kelsey was Kelly's very first friend at Tyndale University. Kelsey comes from the Canadian island province of Newfoundland—'the Rock'—and she is something of a rock, too: Kelsey always points back to Jesus. Late night study sessions, early morning breakfast devotionals and prayers, midday tears, 2am McDonalds trips, "Newfie chapel" and Holy Spirit listening sessions have been staples of their friendship as they have navigated their studies, student leadership, and personal lives in deep fellowship. They have shared countless joyous moments and hardships, reminding each other to come up higher, taking note of growth and celebrating what God is doing every step of the way.

Roxanne Oduro

Bridesmaid

Roxanne was one of the very first people Kelly met during orientation at Tyndale. Their friendship has grown from hanging out in dorm rooms, to visiting different church communities together and having weekly catch ups and prayer, to laughing and crying together over the phone, encouraging one another and sharing all that they've learned about Jesus recently. Rox is beautifully compassionate and insightful. She loves to read and write, is full of love, and lifts others up—all the while standing up for what she knows is right. Rox's steadfast companionship, fierce love and earnest seeking of the Lord champions others' walk with Him as she continues to inspire everyone around her.

Sammantha Huff

Bridesmaid

Kelsey introduced Samm and Kelly in their third year when they all lived on the same floor. Long nights were spent talking about what God was up to and the deep heart transformation they were experiencing as they grew to know Him more. Samm is fearless in Christ. She knows His power and love, and will not let anything get in the way of His way in her life—and certainly not in the lives of her friends. Her openness and care invites others into what He is doing as she relentlessly pursues His heart in all she does. She wants how He sees each person to lead her interactions. Her love for Him makes her trustworthy. Samm and her husband Nathan are wholly passionate about people coming into the full recognition of their identity in Him and pour out to their church community where they pastor.

Emily Wiles

Bridesmaid

Kelly and Em have been on many journeys together, both in the wilderness and in life. They have been on student council together, swam in the northern lakes and hiked Algonquin Provincial Park twice a year, sharing laughter and prayer and food. Emily’s intelligence, wit, advocacy, and compassionate support are just some of the strengths Kelly has come to appreciate in this steadfast friend.

Rebekah Tesch

Bridesmaid

Kelly met this remarkable woman of God on her first visit to the Father's House and was immediately struck by how excited she was to have Rebekah in her life. They became instant friends, sharing in the excitement of what Holy Spirit is doing and how God loves us perfectly. Her love for God pours out through her attentive care and overflows into every area of her life as worship. Rebekah is a bold leader for Christ and sings out beautiful heart songs for Him every week at the Father's House as she seeks His face. The practical wisdom she carries is married to her closeness with Holy Spirit so that she speaks with grace and lovingkindness. She is a true friend, a champion for others, and a fellow adventurer pursuing Jesus.

Kayla Walters

Bridesmaid

Drew's close friend from Lifestyle Christianity and now Kelly's as well. They met over FaceTime when Kelly was visiting Drew the summer of 2019. They got talking and decided to keep talking when Kelly returned to Toronto. Their friendship has been one of sharing in the joy and awe of who Jesus is: his abundant, perfect love and what it means to be wooed by him. Kayla's overflowing excitement for the Lord is contagious and a profound encouragement to all around her. Her desire to live only for God fuels all she does. People meet Kayla and they hunger to know Him more.

Douglas Tesch

Best Man

Drew met Doug a couple of years ago through Doug's wife Rebekah who is on the worship team with Drew. When they met Drew asked him what his intentions were with Rebekah and so launched their friendship. When Doug started coming to the church they became friends quickly and shared a lot of joy together as brothers. Doug is a great source of encouragement and godly counsel. He is gentle and loving and considerate, compassionate, joyful, sensitive to the presence of God, and hungry for a touch from God. He's humble and realizes that he's poor in spirit. God has filled him with wisdom and freedom because God gives grace to the humble but He resists the prideful.

Kunle Popoola

Best Man

Drew met Kunle last September and already had great friendship with his wife, Jumoke from their time at church. The day he and Drew met, Kunle was singing praises to God, sharing testimonies and scripture and revelation God had given him. Drew was really excited about continuing to fellowship together. They would go on to be really close friends, sharing the gospel everywhere they went, leaving a trail of fire: healing the sick and prophesying! Kunle soon spent multiple days a week together. Drew and Kunle hosted a Bible study at the Popoola's where they would invite the people they had spoken to about Jesus that week. Kunle has spoken prophetically into Drew's life multiple times leaving great impact and encouragement.

Caleb Cox

Best Man

Drew and Caleb met in Texas at a 'Power and Love' event at Lifestyle Christianity University. Drew shared his testimony with Caleb and his family and prayed with them. They exchanged numbers and stayed connected. They saw each other at the Send in Orlando and shared a very special moment in prayer together. Drew loves Caleb's passion for the truth and freedom received by the cross. Caleb boldly declares the message that "He who knew no sin became sin on our behalf that we might become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus." He's not ashamed of the gospel which has brought complete transformation and joy and peace and purpose in his life. He champions the revelation that in Christ we can really be free from sin and selfishness.

Presley George

Best Man

Drew met Presley three years ago at the Father's House. Drew is the bass player and Presley is the drummer on the worship team and they share a special connection through this dynamic. They have shared many powerful moments in the presence of God, hearing His whisper and feeling His touch. They have encouraged each other and pushed each other towards Christ-likeness. Presley is hungry for reformation in the church, to see supernatural healing happen often and fiery revival burn in the hearts of believers. He's passionate about seeing people walk in freedom and have purity in relationships, and to give freely what God has freely given to him.

Tommy Ridgeway

Best Man

Tommy is the Family Life Pastor and Children’s Pastor at the Father's House. He is also a really good and trusted friend of Drew and Kelly. Tommy's hunger for God inspires all who are around him. He is always looking for ways to encourage people and the vision that God is giving them. He invites people into the great inheritance of being a son of God. He is childlike and fun, and makes complicated things simple. Drew and Tommy have shared many holy moments together in prayer. Tommy does a great job of honoring people, seeing people the way God sees them and encouraging them by sharing that knowledge intentionally. Drew takes great joy in knowing Tommy and he knows that Tommy is someone he can always come to for good, godly counsel and encouragement.

Erin Gilstrap

Executive Assistant

Trusted advisor, mentor, laughing machine. Purveyor of jokes, helpful observations, and a very dear sister in Christ. Believer. Encourager. Adventurer. Erin.
