BJX (Leon) is probably your best bet. It is typically the cheapest of all options. Volaris has direct flights ranging from $350 (including carry on bags) as of December 16, 2022. BJX is an 1hr and 50 minute drive from San Miguel de Allende. We have some vendors available who will be available to pick up/drop off at a discounted rate. Let me know if this is something you are interested in and I can direct you to the right contacts. There are also buses and taxis available. If you take a taxi, expect to pay about $50. Queretaro Airport (QRO) is also an option. Flights into BJX are usually cheaper. It's an hour's drive to San Miguel de Allende. Shuttles start around $25 and taxis are around $100. You can also fly into Mexico City Juarez Intl (MEX). It is a 5-hour bus ride with combined fares of $32.50 or a 4-hour private transfer for $265. Link to the bus terminal is centraldelnorte.com. The easiest and most direct way to get to the Norte Bus Terminal is via a 30 minute Uber or tax. Rates from the city centre start from $5. You can also take the metro which only costs about $0.30. There is no direct line from Mexico City to Central de Autobuses del Norte. You'll have to make several train transfers with a total travel time of 45 minutes. Futura is the cheapest option for bus travel.
