We were at a red light on 38th and College, when I thought Kyle looked familiar. My best friend, Nicole, insisted that I said something to Kyle..and so I did! I yelled out the car to Kyle that he looked familiar, and he yelled back that I also looked familiar. We exchanged numbers, and the rest is history! Thanks Nicole! P.S. We looked familiar to each other because we attended the same high school prom :)
We decided to take a trip to Chicago so Samara (our daughter) can enjoy a Medieval Times for her good grades and a job well done with 1st grade. I decided this was a perfect opportunity to also give Sasha a job well done proving she can be the perfect person I would love to call my wife! So I called my cousins and friends (Derek, Laura, Eric and Daryl) who have been patiently waiting for months for me to find the right time to do this and told them to meet me downtown! After the show, we ventured to downtown Chicago. Despite Sasha and Samaras restlessness, I insisted we went forward with this plan even though she believed we should go the next day. We walked a good part of Michigan Ave. and took pictures around Millennial Park. This is where I believed my moment had came. Frantically and surreptitiously, I texted my friends and family to let them know where I was. Sasha had no idea! I figured this would be a hard thing to do. But then I realized that all I needed to do was think of all of the things we've done, the happiness we've had, even the tough days we overcame and realized, this isn't so hard at all! So I gave her my last kiss as a boyfriend, and kneeled... Oh but Sasha believed this was a joke! She said to me "Kyle, what are you doing? get up! We gotta go.." I laughed and presented her the ring. Thats when I saw her get the happiest I've ever seen her in all the time I've know her! My friends and family were there to catch the moment when she said yes! It was truly the best thing!
