Things To Do

We are so excited to share a few of our favorite places in the area with you!

Burritt on the Mountain

3101 Burritt Drive Southeast, Huntsville, AL 35801

On our wedding day you as a guest have access to Burritt On The Mountain for free! Just let those at the desk know you are here for the Warnick Sanderson Wedding! We recommend arriving 1-2 hours prior to our wedding ceremony at 4:30 if you would like to tour/see the following: Tour the Burritt Mansion, Historic Park & Barnyard, Dorthy Davidson Rosenwald Schoolhouse, Nature Trails, Josie's Gift Shop, and enjoy the beautiful view over Huntsville and look for the Saturn V Rocket.

Lowe Mill Arts & Entertainment

2211 Seminole Drive Southwest, Huntsville, AL 35805

Former textile mill is the backdrop for this cultural complex of myriad artists & performers! Our favorite spot at Lowe Mill is 'Piper & Leaf' where we enjoy their many different local teas. After you grab your tea we recommend walking around inside Lowe Mill to see a plethora of artists, stores, and so much more! Sarahs favorite tea flavor at Piper & Leaf is 'Old Fashion Birthday Cake' & Nates favorite is 'Front Porch Special'. Ask for recommendations and testers at the store, they will help you pick! They come unsweet but if you like sweet (like us) as for them to be sweetened!

Stovehouse (Food & Shopping)

3414 Governors Drive Southwest, Huntsville, AL 35805

Come enjoy lunch or dinner and shopping at Stovehouse! And don't forget about the rooftop bar! "Today, Stovehouse is Huntsville’s premier destination for eats, drinks, shopping and leisure; but our roots run deep, and the history of Stovehouse goes back nearly a century. Stovehouse is built on the bones of Martin Stamping and Stove Factory on Governors Drive in Huntsville, AL. Construction on the original building began around 1928 and was first home to the Electric Belle Stove Company. In 2018, reconstruction began on the campus now known as Stovehouse with the goal of revitalizing the energy of the old factory and the district surrounding it. Check out the old tanks and tumblers behind the Leisure Lawn stage, the yellow and green compressor right outside Parm and Pepper, and the gorgeous, historic trusswork throughout the campus."

Campus No. 805

2620 Clinton Avenue West, Huntsville, AL 35805

From 1951 to 2009, the site of Campus No. 805 helped to educate thousands of students in Huntsville and Madison County, creating an academic and athletic legacy that will live on for generations to come. Now the old school building has been updated with a new brewery, restaurant, entertainment and retail spaces to blend in with the campus look and feel. It even has a speakeasy!

Big Spring Park (Food & Fun)

Church Street Southwest, Huntsville, AL 35801

Feed the koi, geese, and ducks while walking around downtown Huntsville. Grab a bite to eat and shop! Restaurants we recommend downtown Huntsville: Mazzara's Vinoteca, Pane E Vino, Purveyor, MELT, Commerce Kitchen, Revivalist, The Poppy and Parliament, Rhythm on Monroe, and Jack Brown's Beer & Burgers

Huntsville Botanical Garden

4747 Bob Wallace Avenue Southwest, Huntsville, AL 35805

Go to The Botanical Gardens for a relaxing stroll with beautiful scenery!

Davidson Center for Space Exploration

1 Tranquility Base, Huntsville, AL 35805

Go explore the Space & Rocket center and get to know the history of Huntsville better! “Our story began when Dr. Wernher von Braun and his rocket team first came to the United States in 1945 under military contract to create ballistic rockets. They were sent to Fort Bliss, Texas to work on rocket development, but after inspecting the Redstone facilities in Huntsville which had been used during World War II for the production of pyrotechnical devices, they deemed it a better location and proposed a guided missile center. On March 21, 1950, the von Braun rocket team moved to Huntsville and joined a group of U.S. rocketry specialists. Together, they would go on to create some of the world’s first rockets and satellites to orbit the Earth, and ultimately, the Saturn V rocket that sent the American Apollo astronauts to the moon, achieving the ultimate goal of preeminence in space.”
