Kyle and Sarah first met in junior high school, but didn't catch each other's eye until college. Sarah was home for the summer and the two ran into each other at a mutual friend's party. They hit it off instantly and ended up spending the majority of that summer together- both agreeing that their relationship felt effortless. It wasn't until Sarah was getting ready to go back to college that the two starting thinking about what would happen next. What originated as a 'summer fling' quickly turned into a long-distance relationship when they realized they weren't ready to stop seeing each other. The following years included a lot of road trips to visit each other, welcoming home their pup, Koda, starting their careers, and truly growing up together. While their story has lasted a span of over 10 years, they never lost sight of each other and are so excited to finally make it official!

We were on our annual summer vacation. This year, we chose to go to Hawaii- somewhere I had wanted to visit with Kyle for years. After enjoying the first couple days of our trip, we made it to our hike reservation at Diamondhead Crater. On the way up to the top we stopped at a few lookout spots, taking our time along the way. What I didn't know is that Kyle was internally freaking out at each stop, wondering if he should switch up his plan and propose there instead of waiting until we got to the top. We finally came to a long, steep staircase to make our final hike up. Kyle was behind me, and I found out later that he was frantically digging in his pocket the whole way up to get a good grip on the ring. When we got to the top, we asked another hiker to take our picture. I turned to look at the beautiful view, and when I turned back around I saw Kyle down on one knee. Neither of us remember much after that besides laughing, crying, and feeling like we were literally on top of the world. We spent the remainder of the trip soaking in being fiance's... it felt like a dream. It is definitely our most favorite moment to date!
