The day they met - January 26, 2023 - Sarah was in love, Jacob was not. It was Sarah's first day as a tech for Cabaret at the Aurora Arts Theatre (AAT). Jacob was stage manager. They met for the first time, locked eyes, and shook hands. Sarah was smitten. Was Jacob? No. He was not. He had a job to do, and he intended to do it well. Nothing was going to distract from that. During the run of Cabaret, they were civil, only talking in brief interactions. That was the extent of it. Sarah didn't know much about him, but she knew she wanted to be with him. Fast Forward: Little Shop Auditions - June 4. It was the first night of auditions for Little Shop of Horrors at AAT. Sarah was auditioning for literally any role she could conn her way into. Jacob was the Assistant Director. Sarah was a nervous wreck when she saw him again. Once again, they locked eyes and greeted each other and Sarah's love flourished. Did Jacob feel the same way? No. He did not. He once again had a job to do. He wanted to put on a good show and intended to do that. As Sarah had her vocal audition, she could see Jacob smiling in the corner, which gave Sarah a little hope that maybe he felt the same way she did. She later learned that was not the case. Sarah was just absolutely nailing her vocal audition and giving them options...This made her feel both happy and devastated. No matter, because Sarah was cast as Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors! She was about to spend the next couple of months with the man she already knew was the one for her. Little did she know, she was about to become the one for him. During their time in rehearsal, they spoke more often. As they learned more about one another, they went from acquaintances to "friends". For months, Sarah had been scrolling through Catholic Match in the hopes that she would come across somebody that caught her eye. This was not so until...one day...could it be? It was in fact, the hero of our story, Jacob. The Day Everything Changed - June 22. Sarah was sitting in the parking lot about to enter that night's rehearsals. She was doing her pointless scroll through CM, when that same familiar face popped up. Almost like it was haunting her, or that God was telling her something. Sarah stopped and thought to herself, "This could either be really bad or really good. Let's find out." She opened his profile and liked it. Now he would know. Cut to Jacob in Walmart, shopping for a shirt due to spilling coffee on his at work. Suddenly he gets a notification on his phone from a long-forgotten app that he downloaded, and then didn't think anything else about it. He opened it, looked at the notification, saw Sarah's face on his phone, and was caught off guard. That night at rehearsal, Jacob asked Sarah to dinner. Sarah was red in the face. She was sweating. She was shaking. Was Jacob? No, he was not. He was cool, calm, and collected. They exchanged phone numbers and agreed to dinner that next week. The First Date - June 29 Jacob took Sarah to Bellino for their first date after learning from a little bird, Sabrina, that Sarah loved Italian food. Sarah was so unbelievably nervous, and as you guessed it, Jacob was not. Sarah came on this date in hopes of forming a relationship. Jacob came into this date with no expectations. They ate, they talked, they laughed, it was perfect. They took a walk down by the seawall in Downtown Corpus Christi, where they were told by law enforcement that it was past curfew and they needed to leave. Good times. It really was the perfect date in Sarah's opinion. Was it the perfect date in Jacob's opinion? Yes. They were in sync at last. A week and a half later, Jacob asked Sarah to be his girlfriend. Four months later, Jacob asked Sarah to become his wife. They have found in one another a love that neither of them thought possible and they thank God every single day that they were brought together.
