(aka 2015 on the Internet)
We had our first date at Industry Public House in Lawrenceville. It was one of the coldest nights of the year with a low of -4 (We looked it up). It was so bad that we had to get up and move to the furthest corner of the restaurant to avoid the wind when the door opened.
Sarah wasn't entirely convinced that she wanted to throw in her lot with this Sean guy so it took a bit of charming and a 7-hour drive to Cooperstown, NY for him to win her over. While visiting as "just a friend," the romantic scenery of the lake helped make the case to become "official" boyfriend and girlfriend.
While on an unexpectedly solo vacation to Cedar Point (thanks to Dan, Brandon and Laura all bailing at the last minute) we had a huge suite, early park access and perfect weather for some fun at the park. Unfortunately too many rides were ridden....rode......you get the idea and Sarah wasn't feeling well that evening. Despite that though, Sean in his infinite wisdom decided that he was going to bust out the L word for the first time that night. It worked out well in the end though!
The parking situation and lack of central AC at Sarah's place in Bloomfield was too much to bear for Sean so he asked Sarah to move in with him on Mt. Washington and she said yes! We spent the next two years there until...
We bought our first house together! It's over 100 years old but has "good bones" as they say. We've loved it here and have made it our own. "The Wood Room" is a favorite of ours and most of our guests. Maybe it's the full bar...
There could be no Sarah and Sean without Tinka in the mix too. She was part of the package deal for Sarah and well worth it, even when she had health problems. She would go to work with Sean almost every day and could nap with the best of them. Unfortunately it finally caught up with her and we had to say goodbye in March 2019. We were planning on waiting a while to get another pup but decided to visit Animal Friends to donate Tinka's things to other pups in need. Somehow that trip turned into us bringing Roxy home the following day. Roxy has since honored Tinka's memory by learning the "Tinka Spin" trick and picking up where Tinka left off in the napping department.
Despite a global pandemic, the big question couldn't wait any longer. We had a nice long weekend trip with some friends to Cooperstown and despite Sarah foiling the plans multiple times, the group finally made it to the original lake where it all became official. If you're reading this, you know how the proposal went :-)
