HOW WE MET

10.28.2014

The day we got together. It just happened to be the day the San Francisco Giants won the World Series. Our college/high school friend introduced us, and despite the celebrations that were going on, We both had an amazing connection. Talked all night long, about our goals and aspirations. Nothing mattered at that moment! The next day, we knew we would be together forever. We instantly had a connection. It was love at first sight- "And I'd choose you, in a hundred lifetimes, in a hundred worlds, in any version of reality, I'd find you and I'd choose you."

Proposal

03/22/2021

It was Sarah's birthday, and I planned a surprise road-trip down the coast. We stopped and stayed in Monterey, Pismo Beach and ended in Santa Barbara where we were going to spend the majority of our time before heading home. The whole weekend and trip we celebrated her and did whatever she wanted to do. The day of her birthday, she was up early and ready to go lounge. She went straight to the pool where we rented a cabana. We were hanging out, drinking champagne, and mingling with another couple all day in the sun. I tried to keep her hydrated because I had a surprise for her later that afternoon. We were both feeling pretty tipsy, but had to leave after a few hours because of reservations I made. So we left the pool and got ready. I was nervous the whole ride to our reservations because I was going to ask this women to marry me! I didn't know what to think or do. Asking myself; am I sure I know what I'm doing?, what if she says no?, So I had to play it cool. Nervous as hell, hundreds, no thousands of thoughts running through my mind. So, I stop at a starbucks to use the bathroom and get a coffee. Bad idea. That made me even more nervous and anxious as I probably have ever been in my life! The wind made me want to use the bathroom again, or was it my anxiety? I didn't know. Getting lost to our reservations we finally made it. I found a tree and did what I had to do. Finally, a bit of relief. Our reservations were riding horses on the beach while watching the sunset. This is where I was going to propose to this woman and make her mine FOREVER. Real romantic like, right? ;) We stopped for a photo-op where our horse-back guide knew what I was up to because I mentioned it prior to our adventure. Our guide got us off of our horses safely and positioned black-jack and root beer (the horses) next to us for optimal images while the sun was setting. I set up my phone on a tripod and started recording. Sarah was confused a bit about that but didn't care enough to ask (Remember, we were drinking champagne all day in the sun). We struck some posses and took a few pictures. Sun setting, waves crashing, heart beating out of my chest. I had the ring in my inner pocket and kept pointing in the opposite direction for Sarah to look so I can take the ring out of my pocket and take knee. She looked away, I went for the ring. No. She looked back. I pointed over there again. She looked away again, went for the ring. No. She looked back again. I pointed a third time. Bing, yes! I got the ring. I gave her a kiss. I was whispering sweet nothings in her ear, telling her how much I love her and asking if she was enjoying her birthday. She said she was. I then asked her if she would spend all of her birthdays with me, she said "huh?" I dropped down on one knee and asked her if she would be my wife. She said YES! What a relief. My heart finally came back down to my resting bpm. She started crying while hugging me with all her might. I finally did it.

For all the days along the way
