Sarah and Matt met while working at a pizza restaurant. Sarah needed help making the taco chicken for the Cinco de Mayo special, and Matt - the general manager from a different store - swooped in to be her knight in shining apron. From that restaurant, they went on to work together at another pizzeria, a steakhouse, an oyster bar, a chicken salad restaurant, and three different Taziki's. Somewhere between the steakhouse and the oyster bar, they realized that they had fallen in love. For the last five years, they have been happily spending time together at work or at home with their three dogs, two cats, and Matt's daughter, Kyler.
On July 24th, 2019, Matt and Sarah were on a camping trip in Pisgah Forest. Matt had insisted on hiking Looking Glass Rock. When they reached the top, there were no other hikers around, and overlooking Pisgah Forest and the Blue Ridge Parkway, Matt knelt down on one knee and pulled out the most beautiful ring Sarah had ever seen. Needless to say, she said yes!
After a year long COVID delay, and a last minute venue change, Matt and Sarah are so excited to celebrate their wedding with you!
