Jordan and I met at a mutual friend's house in February 2016. I introduced myself and told him he was my fish camp counselor a year before, but he seemingly didn't realize this. We talked over a fire about ACL and soon became friends. He won my heart over at Lupa’s Coffee Shop then asked me to go see a Mumford and Sons concert in April. He knew coffee and music are the way to my heart. He asked me to be his girlfriend April 9, 2016.
I knew he had the ring in July of 2020 but didn’t know when he planned to pop the question. I don’t wear makeup or have my nails done 97% of the time but he knew I would want to for when he proposed. He told me just to wear this red dress and have my nails done every weekend until the end of 2020. This was a real commitment for me! We planned on going paddle boarding in Austin Labor Day weekend and meet up for brunch with my friend, Izzi, before we went paddle boarding. Somehow he parked blocks away from the restaurant because we had time to spare and we would just go for a “walk in the park”. I had no idea he was going to propose but I started getting nervous when we were walking. A couple minutes into the walk I see this beautiful table in front of the Austin skyline with pictures of us and a bottle of wine we’ve been saving for the occasion. Jordan and I both blacked out from excitement and have no clue what each other said! He surprised me with a night at The Line Hotel and a great dinner at Péché.
