How We Met

4/29/2014

We met the day before prom Hunters junior year and my sophomore year of high school. He was junior class president and uncharge of setting up for prom. I was in my interior design class and we were also helping prepare and set up for prom. The first time Hunter and I first saw each other he looked like a deer in headlights. While setting up for prom we were assigned to work together on putting the lights in the trees. I kept dropping the little bulbs and stepping on them and he kept having to run back and forth to get more and took the blame for all the broken bulbs. Although we did not go to prom together due to the fact that we met the day before we spent everyday together after that and soon started to date

The Proposal

7/10/2018

Cape lookout is my absolute favorite place in the world, emerald green water, endless sea shells and peaceful quiet beach fronts. We planned a camping trip here right after our four year anniversary. We were so excited and loaded the truck up with tons of snacks and coolers full of our food and drinks for the week. We were so excited for all the seashells we were going to collect. The first morning we woke up at the break of dawn and started the hunt for some sea shells. We walked out to the point where the biggest and best seashells are found. I headed straight for the water and insisted that Hunter joined me, and he wouldn't. I told him he was a crazy person for being at the beach and not wanting to get into the ocean. While he was "searching for shells" on the edge of the water he came running back and said he found a big one that he wanted me to see. I quickly jumped out of the water and started retracing his footprints in search of this huge shell that he supposedly found. I, again was oblivious to what was going on and wouldn't get ahead of him while searching. I was getting impatient while looking and told him I couldn't find it and as soon as I did get a head of him he said he found it. I was highly confused because he was behind me and I would have seen it. I told him no you didn't and continued to search. He finally called out my name and insisted he found it, when I turned around he was on one knee. I was clueless, and said "what are you doing on the ground... where is the shell??". He opened this little velvet box with this gorgeous ring, one that was on my pinterest and proposed. Me still thinking about this huge shell that i was looking for said "well thats not a shell". Of course I said yes! No one was in sight for miles and it was the most romantic thing I have ever experienced.
