Doors will open at 4:30pm and the ceremony will start at 5:30pm.
There are many options to get around Puerto Vallarta, Uber's and Taxi's are very easy to get around and you should not have any trouble! If opting for taxis, ensure to get cash in pesos. 1. Ubers are available, but may have longer wait times. 3. For taxis, recommend asking the driver what the fare will be to your destination (for example, the cost of a trip from downtown (Romantic Zone) to Garza Blanca should be $160 to $205 pesos, $8-$10 USD. Trips from the airport should be $30-$40 USD. Tips are not required, unless you feel it is warranted. From airport, we recommend going to the official taxi companies that operate out of the airport, not drivers hassling people as they arrive (you need to go past these people to get to the taxi companies that have windows where you can purchase your trip with a credit card). 2. Bus: If you are staying in downtown Puerto Vallarta, there is a bus line that goes directly to the venue, which is next to the Garza Blanca resort. We did not take the bus while we were in PV as Uber's and Taxis were very affordable and convenient.
You can book transportation to and from the resort by calling the resort and having them add it to your room charge for $70. You can also book a taxi from the airport. We would recommend going through the airport to the official taxi company windows where you can book and pay with a credit card before the trip. There are typically taxi drivers hassling people as they arrive from the airport, which we would not recommend going with. Continue past this crowd until you get to the taxi companies. See this link with what the official taxi companies look like and the rates: https://www.smugmug.com/gallery/n-Wb8Fwd/. Price should be between $25 and $35 to Garza Blanca. 3. Uber is available as well.
Puerto Vallarta is one of the safest cities to visit in Mexico. That said, please exercise caution as you would traveling anywhere internationally. Recommend keeping valuables locked away at your hotel and maintain awareness when walking around the city.
Taxis and some restaurants are cash only. Recommend purchasing pesos from your bank ahead of time for the trip for restaurants and taxi trips if Uber is unavailable (sometimes have long wait times). Taxis from the airport at the official taxi stands, and Ubers take credit card. Rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks are already paid for, so cash not required for those events.
Dress code is semi-formal. The ground will be a combination of mats and a hard sand beach, which is a solid flood underneath a thin layer of sand. Due to the nature of the hard sand, you won't sink down in the sand.
This event is casual, so feel free to dress in what's comfortable. The event will be on the beach at El Dorado restaurant.
