Due to humidity, we have moved our ceremony inside. Cocktail hour will still be outdoors, but we hope an indoor ceremony will help the whole evening be more enjoyable.
When Sarah was a sophomore in high school and Caden was a junior, we went on a mission trip to Haiti. Up until that point, we had paid each other little attention, but on that mission trip we got to know each other really well. As they played with the little kids and served the people of Haiti, they unintentionally developed crushes on each other. Caden and Sarah came back from Haiti as friends and honestly thought that was all it would ever be. We never imagined that 2 months later Caden would ask Sarah to be his girlfriend while sitting outside her bedroom window in the rain (we have COVID to thank for that cute story). Also thanks to COVID, we spent the first couple months of our dating relationship outside and in God's creation. Through many walks, long board rides, and nights star gazing we got to know each other and fell in love.
After dating for over 3 years, we were so excited to get engaged and begin planning our wedding and our future together. One day, Sarah's parent's offered to take her family and Caden out to a nice dinner. Afterwards, Caden asked if Sarah wanted to go watch the sunset. So, we drove out to Caden's house and went on a sunset gator ride, something we frequently do for date nights. Once we got out to the best spot for watching the sunset, Caden parked the gator and we walked to an adorable set up in the prairie. There, Caden proposed and Sarah gave an emphatic yes.
