Saratoga Springs High School's 2011 prom. I decided to ~text~ Brian in February to see if he'd like to go to prom together as friends, to which he agreed. In order to feel more comfortable come prom night, we tried to spend more time together to get to know each other better, and I guess that led us here! Our first "date" consisted of writing term papers, and in April, Brian asked, "So...you want to be my girlfriend?" So romantic. But in May, prom was a blast, and now, here we are!
The last week in August of 2016, we road-tripped to Colorado for our first real vacation together. Halfway through our trip, we were driving up through Rocky Mountain National Park and pulling off to different sights and admiring the gorgeous mountain scenery. At one particular trail, Ute Trail, there was a line of big boulders, followed by a steep drop off. We pulled ourselves onto one of the big boulders to soak in the view, and Brian starts to tell me how he can't wait to take our future children here one day. I jokingly say, "What, is this when you propose to me or something?" And he says, "I don't know, is it?" and he gets down on one knee! I instantly start crying and can't really remember what words were exchanged except for "Will you marry me?" and "Yes!" We were the only two people around, and it felt so special and genuine. Much more romantic than "So...you want to be my girlfriend?"
