In Peru, the seasons are not so distinct like in Europe and the US. So while May is technically autumn (opposite hemisphere), Ica is in the desert, so expect highs of 24 C/ 75 F and lows of 16 C/ 62 F with plenty of sun. It is advisable to bring a jacket, sweater or shawl for the evening.
We have invited your long-term spouses, partners, girlfriends and boyfriends; however, if for some reason there is a plus one we have missed, just let us know and we will see what we can do, but we do not have capacity to invite everyone. This is a small and intimate affair with our nearest and dearest, so not the time to bring your 'fling' of the moment or your new hot Tinder date ;)
Bear in mind that Viña Tacama is a vineyard and the entire wedding is outdoors, so expect to be walking on grass and small rocks -- therefore, choose your footwear wisely! The dress code is semi-formal, so for the ladies this could be a gown, a cocktail dress, a jumpsuit, or anything equivalent. Remember that it will be chilly at night! For men, a suit is the ideal choice, but if you want to go without a jacket or tie, that is also fine.
We will provide transportation for out-of-town guests from Lima to Ica on Thursday morning before the wedding and back to Lima on Sunday afternoon after the wedding. The transport will pick guests up and drop off at the recommended hotels in Miraflores, Lima and at Queirolo in Ica. We will also be sure that there are plenty of taxis available to take to and from Tacama for the wedding. Please be sure to RSVP if you plan to use the transport provided on Thursday and Sunday. If you are going on the Cusco and Machu Picchu trip, airport transfer is provided in the itinerary. Please check with our wedding planner for more details when booking your trip to Machu Picchu after the wedding.
NO. We cannot stress this enough. DO NOT RENT A CAR IN PERU. Peruvians are insane drivers, and we want you all safe and sound. It is for this reason we are arranging transportation from Lima to Ica for the wedding and back. For getting to your hotel in Lima from the airport, take the airport shuttle https://www.airportexpresslima.com/ or Uber.
We kindly ask for no material things, as we will be traveling with limited space in our suitcases. While your presence at our wedding is more than we could wish for, if you would also like to gift us something, please refer to our registry on this website. You will find various cash funds you can contribute to, such as our honeymoon in Kenya as well as date nights and other activities in and around Berlin. Please note that the currency for the registry is in USD. If you would like to gift us in EUR please use our PayPal account jeancarloandsara@gmail.com.
We plan to arrange transportation from Lima to Ica on Thursday, May 19th, for all out-of-town guests. On Friday, May 20th, the day before the wedding, we would love to do some pre-wedding activities with all of you in and around Ica, including visiting Huacachina and doing a dune buggy and sandboarding tour in the desert. It's going to be a blast and we hope that as many of you as possible will participate!
We know that for many of you this is your first time in Peru, and we hope that you will take advantage and travel around! Our wedding planners, Say I Do in Peru, are at your disposal to help you plan your itinerary. In addition, we plan to travel to Cusco and Machu Picchu after the wedding with as many of our guests as possible. This will require an additional 5-7 days after the wedding, so book your flights and plan your vacation days accordingly. Please refer to the 'Travel' section of this website for the suggested Cusco and Machu Picchu 5-day and 7-day itineraries as well as the contact details of our wedding planners. The itineraries can be adjusted to fit your travel needs and time constraints.
