Our story starts earlier than most would think. In 2009, Jake and his best friend decided to head to the RSM Lake to hit up some ladies. This is when they ran into Sara and her friend. Like typical middle school fashion, Jake and Sara made fun of their friends holding hands and being awkward. This is where our story begins. Jake and Sara stayed constant in each others lives through their flirtatious ways of ‘Sara stealing Jake’s hat’ and Jake ‘poking’ Sara on Facebook. Their friendship grew through middle school and high school but took a pause when Sara transferred to Santa Margarita Catholic High School. Fast forward to 2015, Sara came home for Thanksgiving Break and decided to try something new. Meanwhile, Jake & his buddies pilled in the Stewarts trusty Explorer (after downing some Fireball (A LOT)) and headed to their typical Friday night plans: Getting Drunk & Line Dancing at the 18 & over local country bar. Through a drunken gaze, Jake ran into Sara after 4 years and professed his love to her. (Sloppily) After months of chase, long distance, and several face times.. Jake & Sara became official after a night of line dancing. Through a year of long distance, and years of countless dates filled with frozen yogurt, scary movies, and river trips, Sara & Jakes relationship grew. After 4 years of dating, college graduation, and full time job acceptances Jake & Sara packed up their childhood bedrooms and moved into a tiny 600 sqf apartment… only to spend their first year of living together in quarantine. However, in that tiny 600 sqf apartment Jake & Sara built together a life they loved and continue to work on their relationship daily. 2020 was the year!! (That Jake got Sara the dog she begged for… EVERY DAY) and he started to plan out the perfect proposal, and the perfect ring. November 20, 2021 Jake proposed to Sara and started the journey from Smith to Stewart.
