Sara and Chris first met in 2015, a week before Chris moved to Uganda for work. After one conversation, they were both disappointed that they probably wouldn't see each other again. A few years later, Chris and Sara ran into each other at a local coffee shop, where they both did their homework as grad students. Their second conversation started when Chris asked when the coffee shop closed (he knew when it closed because…google). Over the next couple of months, they kept running into each other at the same coffee shop, more on purpose than not. Finally, Chris asked Sara out…but said it would have to be after he finished his finals. Sara blacked out and said yes. Thankfully, Chris had a little more sense and later Facebooked Sara to see if she would be free for the weekend after Thanksgiving. Sara (still blacked out) said yes. After their first date and two weeks of Chris's finals, they went on three dates three days in a row. Despite some people’s frustration (*cough* the Maid of Honor *cough*), Chris started hanging out at Sara’s house more and more.
Three years and two summers long distance later (along with some couples therapy), Chris decided he was going to propose in May of 2022. Sara knew they were approaching that point but was frustrated about the when and Chris REFUSING to answer any questions. While on a trip to New England, the day before Chris planned on proposing, Sara got upset about his “lack of planning” for the next day. Granted, it might have something to do with Chris eating too much of Sara’s danish that morning… Mercifully, the next day at Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park, Chris proposed. Once again, Sara blacked out and said yes!
