We matched on Hinge back in 2020 and we hit it off pretty well… until I said I live in Michigan. The thing is I wasn't aware that I was not supposed to change my location on the app. And Marilyn wasn't too sure about doing long-distance. But after some conversations and help from a couple of friends, Marilyn said let’s give long distance a chance. We talked and Facetimed a lot during the next 3 months until I could fly to Chicago. I asked her out officially that same day. We traveled back and forth to see each other and 854 days later, I proposed to Marilyn. It’s an amazing feeling finding the one and although distance was a big obstacle, it didn’t keep us apart… it made us closer!

Santosh & I met in 2020 on an app called Hinge! After talking for a bit we realized that both of us had “met” nearly 15 years ago at a church conference! By “met” I mean we were both there. It was my first youth conference and it happened to be the only Marthoma conference he ever went to. We even ended up finding a picture of us on the volleyball/basketball court from that conference! But you might be wondering how did I meet him on Hinge when Santosh is from Michigan? Hinge is supposed to be only local people. But Santosh changed his location pin to Northbrook and happened to fall in my radius - which is how we ended up matching! Let's just say I started to "ghost him" after I realized he lived in Michigan and was moving to Florida soon... but his friends ended up drafting a text that got me to re-consider a long-distance relationship and after that it’s history! The last 3 years have been the biggest blessing!
