We're getting married!

Nothing says I love you like meeting on a dating app. Who would have thought that a hairy-hippie man and a girl with a pixie-cut driving a flowery beetle would meet on the oh-so-romantic and heavily esteemed Bumble. Just like that - butterflies and fireworks; hooked at first sight (of his sitar). Little did they know that the two had actually gone to middle school together, passing each other in the halls without the slightest idea of their future.

Matias looked at Katerina on their second or third date and coyly asked, "Do you know the feeling when you look at someone and you just know... they're the one?" Katerina nervously tried to hide her eager smile, but the two understood - they were meant for each other. They decided to make things official after a month of dating and many long distance FaceTime calls. On one of Matias's trips to visit Kat in Tallahassee, the two were basking in each other's company one night. Right then and there, something moved Katerina and suddenly, she grabbed the biggest ring off her dresser, got down on one knee in the floor of her bedroom and asked Matias to marry her. She had been more sure of nothing her whole life. They kissed and cried and right there, naked and snotty, the two became engaged to be married on the eve of April 12th, 2019. But of course - one proposal isn't enough, right? Just a few weeks later, Matias bought a proper ring for a proposal of his own - although he had no idea how he would do it just yet. On a family vacation to celebrate Matias's graduation in New Hampshire, Kat and Mat were walking through downtown Concord and passed by a tall statue of a tux-wearing dog holding out an engagement ring. At the time, Kat and Mat were fond of taking disposable cameras on their trips to capture memories and develop surprises later. Katerina stuck her hand out to the dog and exclaimed, "Take a picture of him proposing to me!" Matias readied his aim and reached into his shirt pocket. "Hold on, I think the picture would be better with this." He pulled out the ring box, opened it, and took the shot with Katerina's reaction to her new engagement ring. May 11th, 2019. Second proposal - done!

December 27th, 2018: Katerina and Matias met in person after matching on Bumble. They drank wine and painted. January 27th, 2019: Katerina and Matias made things official and became boyfriend and girlfriend - the long distance struggle begins. April 12th, 2019: Katerina proposes! May 11th, 2019: Matias proposes! August 30th, 2019: After a few months of living with the parents, Matias moves up to Tallahassee. September 4th, 2019: Katerina moves up to New York City to start rehearsing for her first Broadway show - The Rose Tattoo. The long distance begins again. December 10th, 2019: Katerina moves back to Tallahassee to finish her last semester at FSU and rejoin Matias and her new roommate and best friend, Aidan! July 25th, 2020: Matias and Katerina move into their first apartment living alone, together. December 9th, 2020: Matias and Katerina go on their first trip together out of state to New Orleans! More beignets, please! April 24th, 2021: Matias and Katerina get married!!
