How we met is a pretty random but funny story. Sam was in Taiwan over the summer break of 2017, taking Chinese classes and thought that it would be most beneficial to his language exploits to learn the language by going on dates there. He wasn't a big hit on Taiwanese Coffee Meets Bagel and scored zero dates. But little did he know that his misfortunes with local language mentors would be most beneficial to his love exploits as he would move on to set his location to Sydney, Australia instead. Kay, on the other hand, also had interesting reasons for being on Coffee Meets Bagel as she was looking for some new friends because apparently that is completely normal to use dating apps to make friends (you can tell which slightly sour boy who was in the friend zone is writing the text on this page, can't you?). But little did she know that Samuel, whom she had actually crossed paths with 6 years ago at a youth group, would be on the other side intercepting the DMs and breaking through the friend barrier muahahaha.
At the end of 2018, Sam invited a couple of friends to hang out suspiciously. Suddenly, a friend was on a piano, Sam was giving a speech, and Instagram Live was flicked on (21st Century couple here). A song was dedicated to the lovely Kay, the two were slow dancing in front of the world, and Sam would drop to his knee and ask Kay if she would be his wife. And she said yes :’)
We have both recently graduated and following our wedding will be moving to Los Angeles to see what life has for us out there! We're young, hungry, and ready for the best to come. We are both so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. On this website you can RSVP, see details for our wedding day, and check out the online registry if you are unable to be there in person on the day but would still like to sow into our lives. See you in Feb!
