They met on the dating app Hinge during the summer. Halley had liked one of Samuel's photos a few days prior and she was just about to delete the app when she saw a message from him about peanut butter M&M's. They decided to meet at a coffee shop after work in Fullerton and didn't want the night to end, so they stopped off at Chipotle for dinner and talked almost all night (even though it was a work night and they both had to be up bright and early!) The rest is history!

They love Oak Glen in Yucaipa, so they planned a day to go apple picking, drink hot apple cider and look at the cute stores. Towards the end of the day, the clouds started to roll in, causing the weather to get cold and stormy so Halley suggested they head out and beat the rain on the way home, but Sam wanted to check out this pretty spot in this woodsy area full of trees to take some quick polaroids. When they got to the spot, Halley noticed a woman taking mother/daughter photos and was so distracted, she didn't even notice Sam's nervousness or the fact that his sister and mom were hiding behind a tree taking pictures. When they got to the desired spot, Sam put the camera down, poured his heart out to Halley, and got down on one knee. Halley didn't see it coming, and cried so hard, it took her a while to finally say YES!
