The third most popular National Park in the nation! Its lovely! It's also, as mentioned, popular, so you will likely need to get a reservation if you'd like to go over the weekend. You can see more about it here: https://www.nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/timed-entry-permit-system.htm Lots of great hikes to do, but if you're not a hiker its cool just to drive around! You'll likely see some unique wildlife and you'll definitely see some amazing views! If you would like to visit the park, let us know - while we are not organizing anything specific, we can put people in touch who are going if they want to carpool, etc.
We love walking along downtown Estes Park! You'll get a real taste of the classic Colorado mountain town with plenty of fresh-made treats such as taffy, ice cream, and rocky mountain fudge. There are countless cute boutiques, galleries, and gift shops, adorable bookstores, and the oldest movie theatre west of the Mississippi. We've become friends with several shopkeepers - the town is so friendly and welcoming! Favorite stops include: Bird and Jim-best food in Estes Park! $$$ The Rock Inn - good food, great chill vibes, live but subtle music $$ Omnibus - two locations, the smaller one is a little more witchy. We are friends with owner, Molly, she's great! Cliffhanger Used Books Macdonald Book Shop Dick's Rock Shop
The Stanley is best known for being the filming location of The Shining, but Jack Nicholson isn't even the spookiest thing you're likely to encounter at this extremely haunted and gorgeous location. Tour the grounds on your own or go on an official ghost tour running from 10am-10pm. Book in advance! If you're brave, you can even choose to stay here overnight. There are also several good restaurants on-site - we like The Post - whiskey tasting room, spa services, and everything else you might need to pamper yourself. While we don't know the schedule yet, there are often fun events happening here. Keep an eye on their calendar!
