Samantha and Julie grew up dancing and tumbling at Broadstreet Dance Co. in Griffith. Because of their age gap, they were never in the same classes but always in the same productions. When Sam brought Elijah over to IBT, Julie first recognized Cathy from her childhood. Then, when Sam saw Julie walking in to teach one day, she turned to her mother and said, "That's Julie Newman from Broadstreet". Sam had remembered Julie's hair and Julie remembered Samantha's eyes. Once they were finally able to chat they quickly became close friends and their relationship slowly developed into romantic love over time. Now here they are 25 years later sharing their love for theatre both on stage and off as a family at IBT.
