Our first date was a blind date set up by our two best friends in Feburary. We met at a cute little coffee shop in Cedarville, OH and the conversation and time just flew by. Caleb admits he took way too long following up with Samie and asking her out again. Gratefully he came to his senses and messaged her to schedule a second date. From there we continued in our friendship until Caleb asked her quote " Are we official now?" in a Walmart parking lot. After Samie forced him to ask " Will you be my girlfriend?" she excitedly said yes! After we became official our relationship had its ups and downs but when it came down to it we were growing closer to each other and closer to the Lord which is more than either one of us could ask for. The next 10 months of dating included Samie ruining Caleb's plan by saying I love you in a coffee shop rather than waiting for him to say it ( apparently on a romantic beach...oops), slow dancing in Cedarville's sketchy parking lot, lots of laughs, meeting each others families and friends and so many more sweet memories! In January of 2024, Caleb sneakily devised a plan to bamboozle Samie and truly surprise her. If anyone knows Samie, they know she is too nosy for her own good and hates surprises. Caleb being the smart man that he is, got her set on a date in February but was behind the scenes planning on popping THE QUESTION in January. On January 30th Caleb told Samie that they were going out to a nice dinner to celebrate their 10-month anniversary. Instead of driving to a restaurant, Caleb drove to a park where Caleb and Samie have had a few dates. As soon as we pulled into the park and Samie put two and two together she asked "What are we doing here" Caleb answered, " I have to ask you a question." Samie being the romantic she is uttered to him "I hate you.... You're the worst." Caleb so kindly proceeded to ask her to marry him even after that response. In a stunning turn of events, Samie was too stunned to be her usual loud self but squeaked out a yes!! It was the most special day! We are so excited about what the Lord has planned for our future! We are so grateful we met when we did even when there were so many other opportunities for our paths to cross (seriously you should ask us about this). We cannot wait for our life together and to celebrate it with our incredible family and friends who have supported us along the way!! Now let's get ready to PARTY AND CELEBRATE this marriage-to-be!!!
