In 2020, Sam and two of his friends decided to rent a house on Lake Minnetonka to escape some of the COVID chaos downtown. It just so happens that the house they rented was right next door to Shelby’s parents. Shelby and her brother (Kasey) were living at home at that time and decided to start hanging around with the new guys next door since we were all on lockdown. The rest they say is history, but Sam likes to say he was the “Boy Next Door” ;)

Shortly after their three year anniversary, Sam decided it was time to finally ask the big question. With the help of the girls in Shelby’s family and two of her friends, they were able to set up a proposal based off of her favorite show, The Bachelor! Bonus points were given since it was set at the lake where they first met. Now Shelby gets to live out her dream of being married to THEE Bachelor! (Thanks, Sam)
