I first met Nate at a Sigma Kappa Semi-Formal. No, he was not my date. I went solo because I was feeling all "I don't need a man" at the moment. Ironic, right? We hit it off that night, and he ended up reaching out to me via Facebook messenger after the dance. I responded that I was at BK Lounge (naturally), and to my surprise, he didn't immediately fall in love. In fact, he didn't actually respond until my freshman-year roommate *reminded* him that he had messaged me. After that, we shared the rest of college together - basketball games, family visits, and ultimately, graduation. We moved to Minneapolis after graduation, and our lives completely changed when we adopted a little pup named JoJo. Since then, we have made countless memories as a little family, our latest being our move to Denver! I love this human so much. He makes me feel so special and so loved, and I just cannot wait to marry him and celebrate with all of you!
Sam and I met a long time ago (a.k.a. 2015) in a galaxy far, far away (a.k.a. Milwaukee) during our sophomore year at Marquette University. Before we officially met, I actually knew who Sam was because of the Buzzfeed-like articles that she had written for The Odyssey. In the span of a few weeks, I had numerous friends share Sam’s articles on their FB newsfeeds, and with good reason because they were fricken hysterical. As soon as I read, “11 Thoughts You Have in a Public Restroom” and “11 Awkward Moments That Marquette Students Can Relate To”, Sam immediately caught my attention. I told myself I had to tell her the next time I saw her that I thought her articles were hysterical. Well, shortly thereafter, I ran into Sam outside of my dorm, and seized my opportunity to awkwardly stop her right before she got into an Uber with her friends to say, “Hey! I read your articles, and I just want you to know that I think they are super funny!” I don’t even think she heard me at the time, but I like to think that I planted the seed at that moment. Soon after this awkward encounter, a friend invited me to the Sigma Kappa semi-formal. I think I was one of the better dates of all time because upon arrival I immediately proceeded to lose my date and talk to Sam for the remainder of the night. Once we got back to campus, I went to good-ol’ Facebook messenger to keep the conversation going, but given that I’m one of the worst texters in the history of the world, I ended up completely forgetting that I even messaged Sam to begin with. Once we started texting (again), the rest was history! We spent the rest of college together then moved in together in Minneapolis, where Sam convinced me to make one of the single greatest decisions we have ever made, which was to adopt our pup, JoJo! And most recently, we moved out to Denver together and couldn’t be happier. Sam is the love of my life, and I could not be more excited to spend the rest of my life with her.
