It all started when Sam moved to Nashville in May of 2017. She downloaded Bumble to see what Nashville boys were all about and swiped right on Derrick right away! Luckily Derrick also swiped right on Sam. Their first date was at Frothy Monkey coffee shop on 12 South in Nashville. They walked up and down the entire street, stopping to browse in every shop and spending the whole day together. From there, they’ve spent many hours on the road to visit each other in different cities and together to visit family in their hometowns of Erie, PA and Liberty, KY. Their relationship only strengthened when Sam moved five hours away for work for over a year. Sam knew she needed to get back to Nashville ASAP to be with Derrick. She was able to move back in September of 2020 for good! Derrick has been there for Sam through every move to and from Tennessee and supported her during her career change. Sam has been Derrick’s #1 fan on and off the stage since the first time he sang for her in Sevier Park. On August 9th, 2022, during a trip to Erie, Derrick proposed to Sam at Erie’s Bicentennial Tower, surrounded by her family. It was a complete surprise for Sam, and to this day she has no idea how it was kept a secret! They can’t wait for their families and friends to come together to celebrate their love and future with each other as husband and wife.
