A spectacular cove just outside of Ölüdeniz. You can visit the cove by boat, or follow the Lycian Way to hike through the mountains. A trail can be followed from the valley to visit some waterfalls and you can swim at the beach.
Walk along the harbour, enjoy some local seafood and haggle at the shops.
The finest way to soak up the stunning scenery of Turkey’s Turquoise coast is aboard a ‘gület’ a traditional wooden Turkish yacht. The gulf of Fethiye is home to 12 islands, and tours are likely to include stops at Yassicalar (flat island) for a swim, Terrance Adasi (shipyard island) with its ruins, Akvaryum Koyu (aquarium bay) for snorkeling, and Kizilada (red island) with its beach and mud baths. Boats also travel along the coast stopping at popular spots such as Butterfly Valley, Kas, Kekova and Olympus. Tours can be found out of Fethiye or in Ölüdeniz.
This river meanders through the laid back village of Dalyan, as it travels from Lake Közcegiz to iztuzu beach. The beach is ideal for swimming and sunbathing, as well as being a nesting site for loggerhead turtles. In summer, measures are in place to protect the turtles and you can visit the ‘Sea turtle research, rescue and rehabilitation Centre’. The highlight of the river, though, is its view of the Lycian tombs hewn into its golden cliffs. If you want a closer look, you can rent a private rowboat from Saki restaurant in Dalyan, then take a short walk to visit other ruins including a theatre and acropolis.
Visit a traditional Turkish bath to scrub down and relax after a day of exploring. In addition to a bath you can receive a traditional massage and hang out in the steam. We can recommend ‘Sultan Hamam and Spa’ in Fethiye.
