We’re getting married!!

It’s funny actually....I first met Sam on Halloween night of 2013, when my best friend invited him to her house, and introduced him as her boyfriend! I didn’t really know him very well nor did I see him a lot because me and my friend had been going to two different high schools. After they had broken up a few months later, I thought I would never see him again. That was, untill, the summer of 2015 when i saw him again the first day of training at our churchs’ summer daycamp. And I’ll be honest, I didn’t have much of an impression of him nor did I have any interest in getting to know him. But, the camp lasted for 3 months...and alot can happen in that period of time.....and no lie, BOYYYY i thought he was so cute!! How we got to talking?? Well, it just kinda happened. I wanted to know him outside of work, so I asked for his Snapchat and number and we just clicked. We went on some really cute Eno dates and got to really know each other on a friend level. But..few dates later.. he kissed me!! And i still remember it to this day. We didn’t officially become a public couple till August 8, 2015 we went to Holiday World with our staff and he asked me when we got back. EVERYONE WAS SURPRISED. My parents loved him and I was crazy about him. And the hardest part was, after only 2 weeks of dating, we both went on to college and started long distancing. WE MADE IT THOUGH. 4 long years of it. I missed him all the time, and after that first year dating i knew I loved him and that he was the one. And now, after over 5 years of dating, I can’t believe we are going to be together forever. I am so excited to start this new journey with the love of my life and we are so lucky to have so many people by our side through it all. We love every single one of you and we can’t wait for you to be with us, April, of 2021. #OneInAMilligan

Sam and I, at the time hadn’t been talking about marriage. Sure we knew we were gonna get married, but didnt really know when. It wasn’t till since, I would say the winter of 2019, that we really started talking about it. I talked to Sam about the time frame, budgeting and what rings i wanted! When i asked Sam when he wanted to propose (like time, season, etc), he just said “It’ll happen soon.” I was in no rush! It was just to that point where we were apart for so long and it was the first year (May 2019- May 2020), that we were together almost everyday. I gave Sam hints on where i wanted us to be (outdoors), and he just... smiled. The weekend of June 20th, 2020, he said “Do you want to go on one of our special dates next weekend?” He told me we were gonna go to McKays (a place outside Nashville you can buy and sell books, movies, games and CDS), get lunch and go to Radnor Lake. I was so excited!! We went to McKays, got a few things, went to Radnor Lake and the whole hike, Sam was walking in front talking about his time here in the past. He then ended with “I came here before with my parents and if i remember, there is a little deck area overlooking the lake.” We got to the deck area and it was pretty! We sat on the bench, took a break and just enjoyed the view. After not even five minutes later, Sam said, “Want me to take your picture?” He told me to turn around and hold my hands out like i just climbed Mount Everest!?!? Then after me standing there like an idiot laughing with him asking when i can turn, he said “alright i got it you can turn around now.” And there he was! Down on one knee with his big smile i love and he asked me to marry him! He put the ring of my dreams on my finger and i was so in the moment i just..smiled. Well and of course i said yes lol! #OneInAMilligan
