Sam and Kate both went to a residential high school where they lived in the only co-ed building, 1504. Sam was a senior and Katie a sophomore. Until spring semester, they were both too busy hanging out with friends in their own classes to notice each other. By spring semester, Sam had really stepped up his hall shenanigans and seniors in Katie’s wing were hinting about setting the two up for prom. One fateful Sunday, Katie returned from lunch with her parents and signed in at the residence office. Sam was bothering the Resident Counselor on duty and decided to shanghai Katie into an intervis which the RC was more than happy to oblige to get Sam out of his hair. Katie’s friends were bewildered by this exciting turn the Sunday afternoon had taken and the group hung out together in the girls' wing. From there, these two crazy kids dated, but Katie refused to "define the relationship" because Sam was going to college and, more egregiously, didn't ask her to prom. Luckily, years later, they reconnected while they were both taking time off during college. Ironically, Bampa was extremely concerned when he heard "She's going to be living with boys?!" Sam has since gained his approval, so all is well.
