The story of Sheila and Salman began in 2011 in Houston, TX when they met through mutual friends. With much persistence, Salman convinced Sheila to go to a movie with him ...and the rest is history. The next seven years were filled with countless adventures – making wonderful friendships, traveling the world, and eventually, moving to Denver, CO. On September 1st, 2018, Salman proposed to Sheila with a weekend of surprises and celebrations and Sheila said YES to spending the next 100 years celebrating life with her best friend.

It was Labor Day weekend, and Sheila thought she and Salman were heading to Seattle to celebrate Salman’s 30th birthday. Little did she know, they were not going to Seattle, and instead Salman had been planning the perfect proposal in Denver for her for over a year. It all started with a romantic night for Sheila and him to explore Denver and reminisce on their years of fun together. The next morning, Salman planned a bubbly brunch and surprised Sheila with a spa day. While Sheila was relaxing at the spa, Salman quickly got ready and had a car parked outside to take Sheila to the proposal spot. Salman proposed in front of Stem Ciders, the first place he and Sheila visited when they moved to Denver. After the proposal, Sheila walked into the restaurant and both of their families were there, ready to surprise her. Sheila was overwhelmed with excitement and gratitude that she could share this moment with family. The families then headed to a tapas bar where Salman planned a lunch for the family filled with toasts and laughter. After lunch, Sheila’s parents asked everyone to go back to their hotel to have dessert and hang out. Sheila walked into the hotel and was greeted with 40 of their closest friends, who flew in from all around the United States for the proposal. That night Sheila, Salman, their parents, siblings, and closest friends partied the night away. Salman’s thoughtful proposal weekend was the best weekend of Sheila’s life. It was a weekend for the books and something Sheila will never forget. It was a perfect representation of Salman’s incredible planning skills, but more importantly, his ability to bring so many people together to make Sheila the happiest gal alive.

Here we are in 2021, counting down the days until our big weekend! We’re looking forward to celebrating with our family and friends, who’ve supported us, followed our story from the very beginning, and watched us grow into the couple we are today.
