Frederic Church is well-known as a painter, but he was also a world traveller and a self-taught architect, farmer and landscape designer. Though Frederic and Isabel Church moved among New York City’s cultural tastemakers, Olana was their primary home. New York State Parks are open. Access to Olana’s 250-acre landscape is free. The park is open every day from 8 AM to sunset. We encourage you to explore Frederic Church’s designed landscape with five miles of carriage roads as a way to enjoy the outdoors. All tour participants are required to: Wear a mask covering the mouth and nose during the tour & maintain social distance (six feet) at all times. Please note: The Main House is currently closed. The upper parking lot is currently at limited capacity due to construction. If the lot is full, you may park on the right side only of the main road.
