We met each other at an event at Wigle Whiskey. Neither of us thought much of it when we were introduced by mutual friends (thanks John and Erin!). As the night went on, we realized we were both betting on the same prize basket during the raffle. We are both competitive, so we went on buying more and more raffle tickets to outdo each other. We were both very confident that the other person would lose. I asked that he share the prize with me if he wins -- and of course, he did win. The night got away from us though so I never did get my share of the prize. Months later, we met again and laughed about our first encounter. Fast forward about 7 years, and here we are.

Joe asked the big question while we were in Eagles Mere at his family's lake house. Eagles Mere has always been a special place for us. It's where we vacation with friends, get together for holidays, and where our families were introduced. It was the perfect day in the perfect place.
