The Sangeet is a traditional Indian pre-wedding celebration. As you may know, Indian weddings can be 3-5 days long with various ceremonies. A Sangeet is a few days before the wedding and serves as a party where close friends and family of the bride and groom come together to eat, drink, and dance. What to wear: For women: Sarees, lenghas, shararas, or salwar kameez typically in bright colors. Indian outfits are encouraged but not required. For Men: Suit and jacket (tie optional), or kurta/sherwani.
