Despite the 7 year age gap, Shannon is not only Alyssa's sister, but also one of her best friends. Alyssa always knows she can rely on Shannon for her blunt honesty, fashion advice, and to listen to her vent. Shannon is a true adventurer, and is probably the most fun person you will ever meet. Whenever Alyssa wants to go somewhere or try something new, Shannon is always along for the ride. Shannon is absolutely gorgeous inside and out, she has a heart of gold and makes everyone around her laugh. She is the ultimate hype woman, and with her by Alyssa's side, you know the wedding will be a good time.
Andrew Hahn

Kevin and Andy first met at George Mason University early during Kevin's freshman year. Andy was a leader in the Catholic fraternity (FOCUS) and he invited Kevin to kick some hacky sack around. Kevin would eventually join FOCUS as Andy's little. Their friendship would continue to grow into the 15+ year brotherhood it is today (Several people have mistaken us for brothers over the years.) They bonded over everything from sports and investing to gambling and video games. Kevin never lived with Andy during college but would move in with him and a few other various roommates soon after completing graduate school.
Riley Ahmad

To say Riley is Alyssa’s best friend is an understatement because they are really sisters. The two have been friends for nearly two decades, and have been through a lot together, the good times and the bad. Over the many years of their friendship they have really become a part of each other’s families. Seriously, Riley will spend time with the Ryans even when Alyssa isn’t around and vice versa. Shannon even affectionately refers to Riley as her cool older sister. Despite living on opposite coasts, Riley and Alyssa always make time for each other. Alyssa had the privilege of being Riley’s MOH, so Riley is now Alyssa’s go-to gal on all things wedding. After all, Alyssa and Riley have only talked about and planned their respective weddings since high school.
Joseph Wegman

Joe is the 2-year older of brother of Kevin. Joe was always the smart weatherman and Kevin was the sports junkie. So where do sports and weather collide? The news. One of Kevin and Joe's fondest childhood memories was setting up a fake news set in front of a giant video camera and recording some classic bloopers. Life as children were often filled with compromises to the effect of 'if you do this weather activity then I'll do a sports activity' When high school came around, Joe continued his dream of becoming a weatherman and would broadcast the morning announcements. It wasn't long before Kevin was known as WeatherWegman's little brother...
Chandler Ryan

Although Chandler is actually Alyssa’s sister-in-law, you will only ever hear her referred to as her sister. Chan is also the mom to Alyssa's favorite fur nephew, Booney, who is the sweetest chocolate chunk on earth. The Ryan family has been so blessed that Chandler chose to marry Patrick, and she easily became one of Alyssa’s closest friends. Alyssa loves having another healthcare aficionado in the family, so she’s always a go-to to hash out the coolest medical stories with. Needless to say Chandler is very intelligent and kind, but is also super fun and always willing to join in on Alyssa’s impromptu dance sessions, which usually happen in the grocery store. You can count on Chan to make sure everyone gets on the dance floor at the wedding.
Patrick Ryan

Patrick is Alyssa’s older brother, and one of her best friends, so naturally he and Kevin have become close over the last several years. Kevin found that he and Patrick shared a lot of common interests, most importantly sports. They both have degrees in Sports Management, even though neither of them work in sports. Their love for sports runs deep, Patrick and Kevin participate in several fantasy leagues. When Kevin invited Pat to the fantasy football leagues that he commissions, Pat blew everyone away and won the whole thing his first year in. Pat is always the life of the party, so bring your dancing shoes because you can expect he will keep the party going.
Avrie Torres

Avrie and Alyssa met when their older brothers were playing hockey together in high school. While getting dragged to all of their brothers' hockey games, the two became very good friends. They found they had a lot in common, from their competitiveness in Wii sports, to wearing metallic pants in public, but most importantly their love for food (especially pizza). Although they spent a few years apart, when Alyssa transferred to Niagara University (where Avrie was going to school) they reunited like no time had passed. Together they made it through relatively unscathed, just maybe a little traumatized by Biochem, and then both decided to go get Masters degrees. So after Alyssa met Kevin while in grad school, Avrie was the first friend that she introduced Kevin to. Luckily, Avrie's husband, Ralph, and Kevin hit it off and became friends. Over the past few years they have remained a big part of each others lives, visiting each other in different states whenever possible.
James Liebowitz

Kevin first met James, also known as 'Peeps', down in Newport News, VA at his first salaried position out of grad school. James was a graduate assistant at the time, and while Kevin wasn't James's direct report he liked to pretend like he was. Despite Kevin firing James several times he still decided to live with him for a year before moving back to Maine. Even though many states and miles separate them they've always kept in touch.
Gertrude Nganwa

Sometimes God brings people into your life for a reason, and Gerty is just one of those people for Alyssa. While admittedly they never thought they would have become friends, they are so glad they did. Thanks to a novel pandemic that brought about a lot of chaos in healthcare, Gerty and Alyssa really had to lean on each other to get through some extremely challenging obstacles. Gerty's wise words of wisdom have stayed with Alyssa through PA school. During times of conflict Alyssa knows she can always give Gerty a call to give her the most sound advice.
Sohail Rana

Kevin first met Sohail playing basketball at George Mason University. They always bonded over playing and talking sports. Some of Kevin's fondest memories with Sohail was beating him in several 3-pt shooting contests...In a perfect world......but in reality Kevin has never beat Sohail. Even though Sohail is Cowboys fan, Kevin still remains good friends with him to this day.
James Cerasia

The best thing to come out of Alyssa's short-lived government job. When Alyssa met James on their first day of work, she immediately knew they were going to be lifelong friends. They quickly learned how similar a pair they are and became partners in crime. James is like the fun little brother Alyssa never had. James got Alyssa into the local Stonewall Dodgeball league, where she met several other DC friends. Together it will be hard to find a louder more sarcastic duo. Even after Alyssa got back into healthcare, and James went off to law school, the pair have stayed very close. Alyssa knows she can always count on James to give his unsolicited opinion on anything, and vice versa, especially when it comes to making a traditional Italian meal.
Micah Hinders

Micah is one the realest people you will ever meet. He's always down to have a good time and never afraid to take a (calculated) risk. Once you get to know him he will always have your back, even if it means becoming an Eagles fan...or a semi-eagles fan ;). Some of Kevin's fondest memories with Micah are playing basketball and various yard games with him and his family. When Micah sets his mind to something, nothing will stand his way.

Emory is the daughter of Alyssa's friend and favorite doctor, Meagan Slate. Em is just a little bundle of joy, and is likely to steal the show with her infectious smile.
Amelia Wegman

Amelia is Kevin's niece & god-daughter, daughter of Joe and Rosanne. When asked if she wanted to be a part of the wedding, she immediately lit up and asked if she could be the flower girl. Amelia will be leading the way for Alyssa with the two other flower girls. Alyssa is very excited to be Amelia's aunt.

Gigi is the daughter of Gerty and Donald. Gerty and Alyssa planned out her flower girl training before she was even born. Auntie Lyss is thrilled to have her help lead the way before she walks down the aisle.

Parents of the Bride
Alyssa's parents, Tim & Michele, are the true epitome what giving and selfless parents are. They truly formed Alyssa into the woman she is today. Michele has instilled Alyssa's relentless and persevering spirit to never give up and never settle. Whereas Tim instilled the importance of always strive to be the best version of yourself, and choose your battles wisely. Together Tim and Michele have set a standard for what a 36+ year marriage looks like: it's not easy, really an incredible feat, but it is worth all the trials and tribulations for what a true partnership should be.

Helen & Peter (or as Kevin calls him, T-dog) have been married 35+ years. They are an incredible example of a Catholic marriage. They have shaped Kevin into the man he is today. Kevin gets his humor and generosity from Pete, and his grit and determination from Helen. They have been strong role models in Kevin's life for how to live in God's love and grace.
