THE INCEPTION 'Twas a day like any other, and Casey had just endured a grueling MegaBus ride from Philly to State College to visit her friend Jill in Spring of 2011. Though she was no stranger to Penn State, she WAS a stranger to Jill's peculiar new upstairs neighbor, Ryan. Upon their first encounter, the two decided that they shared a similar sense of humor and proceeded to enjoy the sunshine & brewskis at Whipple Dam State Park with friends, getting along swimmingly. As the evening drew to a close, the group found themselves eating Canyon Wings (as one does at Penn State). Casey is more of a delicate wing eater, not intent on getting every last bit of meat off the bone. Ryan saw Casey's birdlike feeding habits, and felt compelled to eat the remaining bits on all her wings, which was simultaneously absurd and endearing (I mean dude... we just met). It was in that moment that Casey realized the friendship would be built on a mutual love of food and lack of respect for normal social behavior. THE IN-BETWEEN They continued to hang with friends, enjoy PSU visits, & engage in witty banter via Facebook. Ryan also made a guest appearance in Philly for Casey's 21st birthday, where they attempted to adopt a stray cat by luring it home with chicken nuggets. Ahh, they'll make great parents one day. As fate would have it, Ryan moved to Philly after graduating to pursue a big-boy career in Actuarial Sciences, where, wouldn't you know, he had one friend: Casey. She was thrilled when he moved to town, though it wasn't always a walk in the park (they can both be pretty stubborn). THE CONVERSION Flash forward through several more years of friendship and a shared respect for Taking Back Sunday & Taco Bell, when one day, the companionship they had shared began to feel like something deeper: it was love. Naturally, their first kiss happened while waiting in line for pizza, and the rest, as they say, is history. The two now happily reside in Philly & have a cat, Keiko.
