At their school’s annual blood drive, Savannah was given a list of donors to take care of. She knew everyone’s name on her list… except for Ryan’s! Wondering how she’d never heard of him or met him in passing, she went to pick him up. Ryan walked up to her, with a heavy backpack and art supplies in tow. They made small talk on their way to the donation area - mainly about their height difference. Savannah returned to the donation area to see Ryan sick, sitting in the rest area. He didn’t eat breakfast that day! Ryan became faint and nauseous while donating blood, and was sent to recover before being dropped off. When the time came, Savannah tried picking up Ryan’s belongings before she was stopped by him. He insisted on carrying his own things, as they were far too heavy. Savannah brought up the fact that he quite literally almost passed out a few minutes prior, and insisted she carry his things. This went on for a few minutes. Savannah ended up carrying Ryan’s backpack, and Ryan ended up carrying his art supplies. They talked for a while more, and Savannah very shyly said “see you around.” They began crossing paths more often - exchanging hugs and hellos when the chance arose. Ryan wrote his phone number on an index card and kept it in his wallet. He was too nervous to give the card to Savannah when he saw her. Savannah mentioned Ryan to a friend. She liked Ryan, but didn’t want to pursue him since the school year was ending. Her friend asked more about Ryan. She only remembered that he was really tall and an art student. At the end of that day, Savannah’s friend, who just so happened to be Ryan’s friend as well, created a group chat with the three of them. After saying “you two kids have fun”, they left the chat. And the rest is history.
