One of our favorite places to visit! All of the animals were rescued from situations where they couldn't survive on their own. AWCC is also responsible for reintroducing wood bison to the Alaskan wilderness.
You can catch us at GBC most days. They have the best take-home gifts, too!
If you take an extended trip, Forest Fair is a super cool, local event! Forest Fair features Alaskan artists, hand-crafted items, exotic foods and entertainers from all over Alaska. It kicks off with the Forest Fair Parade on Saturday, at 10:00 am. There is no admission fee, only good times!
Lower Virgin Creek Falls trail is one of the easiest hikes in Girdwood. It's just half a mile one way and the falls are worth it. You can also score blueberries and salmonberries along the way.
The view from the top of the tram is STUNNING. There are two awesome restaurants at the top as well. If you hike up to the top, you can ride the tram down for free.
Prince William Sound is incredible. On a half day tour, you can see glaciers, giant waterfalls and tons of wildlife. Our favorite tour is with Captain John Earl on the Tundra. We've seen otters, seals and orcas from his boat!
We LOVE Spoonline! They have amazing food (and a great wine list!)
June 21, 2022 is summer solstice. That means it won't get dark! There are tons of festivals to celebrate but really, it's just awesome to see the Midnight Sun.
