We met at California Lutheran University in Fall of 2017. Ryan was a freshman and Lauren was a junior. We both played on the golf team and were friends during their first year. We continued to grow closer and spent a lot of time together during the golf season. During the summer, we hung out all the time since we both lived in the San Fernando Valley. Lauren was working at Hillcrest CC at the time and Ryan was working at Roger Dunn Golf Shops. We continued to go on "just friends" dates like going to the movie house, playing golf, and going to dinner. After going to the OC Fair together, Lauren got the courage to ask if Ryan was "feeling the vines", a typo which led to their blossoming relationship. On July 3, 2018 we went on our first real date to Dodger Stadium (of course sports). We found that we had so much in common, but also opened each other's eyes to new things. Ryan taught Lauren about sports and how to season food. Lauren taught Ryan how to read putting greens and do laundry. Now, we spend most of our time playing golf together, cooking, and playing board games. We love going on golf trips together and visiting college campus'. On June 10, 2023 Ryan proposed during the CLU alumni golf trip. We were on the 18th green at La Purisima Golf Course and Lauren just made a birdie to win a skin (had to throw that in there). It was Lauren's dream proposal as we were able to celebrate with our Cal Lu golf family. We are so excited to share our special day with all of you at California Lutheran University, where Ryan and Lauren first met.
