After going back and forth about how they would like to get married, Kyle and Ryan realized the best way to do it was to do it for themselves. At that time, they figured that the trip to Maui they had planned for February was as good a time as any, so off they went. They picked a day to stop by the courthouse to make it official, but of course, it wouldn't be a trip to Hawaii without a little turbulence - there were no judges available. Luckily, Ryan's family came to the rescue. His sister, Antje, graciously agreed to officiate the wedding in their grandma's backyard. The funniest part was that 2 years earlier when Kyle saw her yard overlooking the West Maui Mountains for the first time, he had expressed that it would be the perfect spot to get married. Everyone thought that was hilarious, but he knew what he was talking about. Ryan, for the first time (and last time) in his life, was wrong! On the morning of February 21, 2024, Ryan and Kyle stole away to Kanaha Beach to privately exchange their vows. These unforgettable moments were captured by the extremely talented photographer Liv Shaw (Instagram @Livshawphoto). With the exchange of vows, lei, and rings, their life as a married couple began.
