To our friends and family, thank you for celebrating alongside the sweetest season of our relationship. We love you all tremendously and cannot wait to celebrate in October with you. Being engaged has been so special, and we are so excited for the chapter of our lives together!
We are so thankful for all the people who have encouraged and supported us together, as well as individually. Holland and I have known of each other since junior high. One could say we had a small window of being interested in one another, if being interested means she said yes to coming to the senior year homecoming dance with me. After the dance we were no longer interested in one another, not for any crazy reasons, although I did run a red light while driving her to the dance. After that she went to Point Loma Nazarene University and I went to Cal Baptist University for college. We happened to work at Forest Home Family Camp together summer of freshman year (she texted and told me I should work there). We didn't date at camp but realized we both got a lot cooler since high school or really she realized I got a lot cooler, she was always pretty cool. We went back to school, Covid-19 hit, and we started hanging out because we lived just up the street from one another. Maybe it was the Covid in the air, but we slowly started to catch feelings for one another. It wasn't until Holland moved to San Luis Obispo for awhile and invited me to visit her. I had quite a long drive to contemplate why I was really driving to visit this girl in SLO. Just before I went home after chickening out all weekend to tell her I liked her, Holland asked to share a cup of coffee with her that morning. She looked at me and looked so sweet and comforting, there was no way I was leaving then and not telling her how I felt about her. So I did and what a relief SHE liked me too! So now we are in LOVE and engaged, 3 years later!
