Starting our biggest adventure yet!

Our first kiss happened long before we started dating. Back in middle school we rode the school bus home together and one day Dustin kissed me! I didn't even remember it until our friend brought it up one day joking after we started dating. It's funny how even 10 years before we started dating, God had a plan for us!

Our friends were moving into their house with their new baby and we were over all the time. Dustin was helping fix things and I was helping entertain the baby. After a few weeks of seeing each other every day, our friends suggested we date. So we did!

Dustin and I had a slow start. We both wanted to be very careful in this relationship because we were friends and our lives were so intertwined. I refused to call him my "boyfriend" until 6 months after we started talking. But I shocked everyone when I was the first one to say-- or write-- I love you. Our first Christmas together I bought Dustin a Bible and wrote a note on the front page. It was long and sweet but I don't think he thought it was going to end in our first "I love you". It was definitely my favorite Christmas present to give and my favorite "I love you" to give too!

I have done missions in the Dominican Republic for three years. I wanted to take a "fun" trip and see the country that God had put in my heart. Even though we had never been on a trip together (and Dustin had never been out of the country), I just had to show my favorite person my favorite place. On our first night there we went to watch the sunset on Playa Bonita, Nat Geo’s voted the 4th most beautiful beach in the world. The clouds were blocking the sunset and I apparently refused to get out of the ocean. After Dustin (finally) quit messing with his GoPro, he joined me in the water. He didn't get down on one knee, I didn't have pants on (just bathing suit bottoms), and I thought he was lying the whole time but it was the perfect proposal!

You all get to see this milestone! We have stressed, saved, and planned for this special day and we cannot wait. We have planned every detail so special to show how much we love and are excited to spend the rest of our lives together— so join us at our wedding. We can't wait to share the time with you! ☺️
