We met at work in January of 2019 and ultimately Kyle spent way too much time in Alyssa's office and Alyssa would "conveniently" be refilling her coffee at the same time as him. From the beginning, we clicked and quickly became friends. We would grab after-work beers and talk to each other about our dating lives, work, and life. Then in December 2020 (on Kyle's birthday weekend), we had our first date: we watched Die Hard and drank good whiskey. From that moment we both knew where this was headed. We tripped, fell, and landed super hard in love.
Kyle, his family, and his friends all deserve an Oscar for their stellar performances in keeping the engagement under wraps for 9 months. We planned a birthday weekend (Alyssa's) in Buena Vista, CO at a cute Airbnb with a private hot springs pool. Kyle excitedly suggested the idea that we get each other our favorite food, drink, and activity to do together and show each other when we get to the cabin. Alyssa got one thing for each category; however, Kyle cheated and kept giving two gifts each. When it came to the activity, he presented a new board game, but then said he had two activities for us. He traditionally got down on one knee, teary-eyed, and offered the activity of spending our lives together. Alyssa responded with, "you fucker!" followed by a very easy yes!
